NineEleven (Vociferous Antipathy), 2004 I was listening to NPR one day when I happened to pay attention to one of the million sound bites that incessantly bombard us. It was a US Army general discussing the war in Iraq. In his depiction of the events surrounding September 11th, he described the terrorists’ behavior as “vociferous antipathy”. I was at once struck by the harmony and clarity of these words used to describe a situation that is anything but harmonious or clear. |
